Congrats to Winner of Gift Certificate to Argenta Market

Congrats to Kara Haynie - winner of last week's gift certificate for lunch-for-two at the Argenta Market.
Please stay tuned for your chance to win this week.

I stopped in and had breakfast at Argenta this a.m. (Monday) and thoroughly enjoyed a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, served on wheat toast.   I put my usual oatmeal aside today to see what the breakfast buzz was about.  It was tasty.  BTW, I did exercise some moderation, eating only half the sandwich - I'm going to polish it off with a small bowl of fresh fruit.

Like the concept at Argenta, though.  They can make everything fresh in house because they have all the ingredients at their fingertips - surrounded by the bounty of local farmers and producers of other goods.  The market also partners with area bakeries, i.e. Boulevard and Community to offer their fresh breads and pastries.  But if your sweet tooth calls for more than that, they do have a variety of sliced cakes baked by a local pastry chef.  (Noticed chocolate, strawberry and Italian Cream today)

I am a new fan of their Black Angus burgers - I put them on the list of must-tries - a nice thick, grilled, juicy mouth-watering patty, seasoned on the spot. and served with their house-made kettle-style chips. Servings are typically generous.

Also recommend trying the Red Pepper hummus, if you are a fan  of that type of dip.  They sell that with their house-made pita chips and people can't seen to get enough . (I'm putting the hummus recipe on my page on this blog)

Argenta caters and has one of the most wide-ranging gourmet cheese offerings you'll find.  Definitely worth checking out.

(Thanks for taking time to send this Micki!)

"Hi Pam! Thanks so much for featuring Eat My Catfish. I love their food. Fried dill pickles are amazing. Here's you an interesting story. On Thursday and Friday, I went to a school training. The presenter was from

Chicago and she had flown in on Wednesday. At lunch, she started talking about an interesting restaurant she had seen on the news the night before and was very curious because it had crawfish. I said, "Oh, that was Eat My Catfish." I eventually showed her their website (and Facebook page) and she was so intrigued that she drove from the hotel in NLR all the way to Benton to get crawfish. When the conference ended on Friday, she was wondering if she could buy more and take it as her carry-on for her flight back to Chicago!

Thanks again for featuring one of my favorite places to eat in Benton!
