BTW, went back Saturday to check out their Brunch and it was delicious - sampled shrimp and grits, grilled sausage, toast, beignets and chicory coffee - all for $8. Owner James Meadors was even frying up some chicken wings and pork chops - now that's a southern breakfast for you!
A little FYI for you - Chicory coffee was said to have been developed during the civil war of the French. Coffee was not abundant at that time so they added chickory, the root of the endive plant, (Endive is a type of lettuce) to the brew to add body and flavor. The Acadians from Nova Scotia brought that taste and many other customs to Louisiana. If you like very bold flavor - you will enjoy this coffee. Fatsam's has theirs specially ground in Little Rock by Guillermo's Gourmet Coffee.
